Amaseconti

The name probably means the “abundance of small fish" (herring). The Amaseconti were a small division of the Abnaki and lived in two villages a few miles apart in Western Maine: one was located near Farmington Falls on Sandy River and the second near the present day New Sharon. They took part with the other Abnaki in the early Indian wars against the English and joined in the treaty made at Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1713. Some of them lived in their old homes until about 1797, when the last family was removed to St Francis, Canada, where they retained their distinctive name until 1809.

What does a party animal like me do on a Friday night? I call up my geocaching friends @2lablovers and @intrepiidexplorer and convince them to spend the night in Boulder, Colorado looking for hidden treasures. That's what I do! We wandered up here with a list of 28 caches. Most were on the west side of the city and a few were at NCAR. Started with an FTF and managed to grab a puzzle, a virtual, an earthcache, and many traditionals. We ended the the night with the virtual. By then it was around 10pm and time to migrate back toward Aurora. Five hours of caching fueled by Starbucks and McDonalds. La vida loca.
IE and I crawled into this little hiding spot while 2LL stood watch. After making the find and stamping our names, we came out to find a jogger approaching. He had the "I wanna ask what you're doing" look, but was too polite (or scared) to ask. Cache is safe and sound. TFTC!

Nice trail with only little bit of bike traffic. Glad it was on this side of the neighborhood as the other side parking was pretty packed with cyclists headed out on the trail. Cache in good shape. TFTH SL
