This cache can be accessed two different ways, by hiking from the main road or by 4-wheel drive. See additional waypoints for the appropriate starting point. This cache is a 35mm film canister. Contains a log. Remember to bring a pencil.
This cache is located just .3 miles from Rd 300 , Rampart Range Road when starting from the hiking coordinates.
The 4-wheel drive location is also listed, this way requires some clearance and 4 wheel drive. I am able to do this trail with a 1/2 ton stock pickup, with a slide-in camper.
Additional Waypoints J11H54R - 4X4 Strarting Point N 39° 04.572 W 105° 01.627 If you wish to get to this cache by vehicle, you'll want at least a 4X4 with some clearance. The trail does narrow and scratches ARE likely. JJ1H54R - Parking Area to Hike From N 39° 04.846 W 105° 01.629 From this location you can park, just off Rd 300, and hike approx. .3 miles to the cache.
07/06/2017 By YamaGypsy Enjoyed a nice hike to the location. It was just me so I wasn't sure if I wanted to chance it but it's better to do it and then only have to hike back up that hill once. Getting over to the cache was a bit easier than getting back. Made is safe. Cache is in good shape, thanks!
03/24/2016 By TopJumpmaster Nice hide. Took us a bit to find it. TFTC.
03/23/2016 By DENWAB TFTC. Found this one on the 22nd of March...directly before the storm storm on the 23rd.
11/01/2015 By Back Country Horsemen Hiked on out to this one from the other cache near the shooting area. Started going the wrong way but figured I'd better stay on the ridge. It was still pretty steep the final couple hundred feet. When I read the hint & saw the spot I knew I was up for another challenge. I held my breath & made it across the gap & sure enough there was the cache. Surprisingly this was only my 3rd hardest boulder retrieval in one day of caching the area. I was surprised the last signed log was from 2014, but I see two other finds posted this year. I climbed back down a little different route since I could slide.
