Wilderness -- "an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain ... an area protected and managed so as to preserve its natural conditions."—The Wilderness Act of 1964

The cache is hidden a short distance off the Lily Lake Trail. Park at the TH parking area, follow the trail, and cross Ripple Creek. Once across the creek you are close to your prize. After signing the cache log sheet, make certain that you place everything back just as you found things. Bring your own pen or pencil. If you have time, hike the Lily Lake Trail into the Wilderness Area!

What better way is there for a cacher to acknowledge a birthday than to get one of the birthday person's caches? Happy birthday Steve and to Kathy too.

We decided that since we were in Steamboat we should get into the forest to see some fall color. We were greeted to a great variation in colors, apparently due to a dry season. Thanks for pulling us out to the Wilderness to experience the bright yellows, oranges, greens and variations in between. First time for us to be on the other side of the Flattop Wilderness.

Did Zaba leave a clue?

I've been coming up to this part of the state almost every summer for the past 30 years and when I saw this one hadn't been found in almost 2 years, I thought I'd go check on it. The log's a little wet, but still in great shape! Thanks for the find!

Camping and exploring in the area. When I located the cache (which is in great shape) I realized that I didn't have a pencil to sign the log. So not wanting to cross the swollen creek two extra times I left a small shell and took a picture of the log.
Thanks for the cache and the short hike.

Coord had me going up the hill, but I knew better! Fun place, glad I wore sandals to cross the creek.
