The cache is an ammo can, painted to look like a school bus. The cache is located at the Forest Service parking lot, at the base of the 4x4 road to the Battlement Lakes. The find is probably a 1.5, but the road up gives it the 2.5 rating. During certain times of the year this road can get pretty muddy and/or wash boarded. Can be accessed with a car, recommend truck, SUV, motorcycle or ATV.This cache was placed with and for our friend Miss P. an elementary school teacher. She's been a teacher for 25 years, teaching Kindergarten the last 15 of those years. Miss P. was telling Tink one day about this thing called Geocaching that her brother does. Next thing you know, Tink and I are hooked and closing in on find #500. Thanks Miss P. for getting us started and more importantly for the job you've done for our children and our community for the past 25 years!
I'm am saddened to report that Miss P. passed away late January, 2014. The original school bus was taken and replaced with a plastic coffee can. Tink and I have rebuilt the bus and moved it to a new location, under a Christmas tree and meadow of columbines. Somewhere in the great beyond, Miss P is teaching a whole new group of kids her favorite dance - The Tu-Ti-Ta :0)
The cache is full of school supplies. Take what you need, especially if you can use it at school :0)
