Toughest one yet in this series.
The Waypoint: I thought I was done with this hill. The last time I was up here I hiked all the way to the radio tower, so I had a pretty good idea of what I was in for. That was a long and steep hike and I was thankful that it only took a few minutes to locate the container. I sat for a while and enjoyed the view before heading back down.On the way down the hill I decided that I was never climbing that hill again. So if you put any more caches up there...oh heck, I'll climb up there again.
The Final: Today seemed like a good day to go for it. It was nice and cool. I had studied the topo map and it looked like a roundabout approach from the west would be an easier hike, but after arriving I decided on a fairly direct approach. After a lot of huffing and puffing and frequent rest stops I finally got to the top of the hill. My GPS just couldn't settle on a spot and I spent a lot of time turning over rocks all over the area. I was close to giving up when I glanced down and saw a corner of the container inches from where I was standing. It was starting to rain so I quickly signed the log, grabbed the clue, and left one of my cards. Watch out for loose rocks everywhere up there. It's a long way to fall if you slip.
Both stages of this cache are in perfect condition.
I've found all the waypoints, but still have 3 of the finals to find. That's gonna be a long hike. I hope I can finish this series before winter sets in.

Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you have to backtrack. Oh well, it just adds to the adventure. I had a fun day with billkat chasing clues for this series today. TFTC

WingsAndTales and I spent another day beating up the cactus and ourselves on these fun multis. The wind just about knocked us over on this one. We have all the first stages and finished three of the finals. We can now see what is in store for the rest of the multis. Not quite sure what to make of the Island yet though. Tftc!

You have GOT to be kidding! That's what I said several times after seeing the lush terrain for the final on this one. Onward and upward. Ernie66 found the cache while I was busy looking for the easiest way down. The coords were right on. Word of warning to anyone doing this series (particularly if you live in the Springs), leave lots of time to do it...days...perhaps several days :-) Love the containers! Thanks for the challenge.

Estes01 and I found most of the stage 1's of the series and on the way to one of them, we stopped to get our first stage 2. Good view from the final, but I can't say we liked the steep climb through sticker brush, loose rock, and cactus
. We did happen across some interesting fossils in some of the sandstone slabs on the way down, which helped make it worthwhile. TFTC!
