I went out on this beautiful Labor Day to grab a couple of caches. I found the first stage ages ago. I love that hike! I actually started for the final a month or so ago but got about 5 miles out of town when I noticed my low fuel light was on. No knowing if I would make it to the cache and back without running out of gas I turned around. Today I made sure I had a nearly full tank. Man is that road rough! There are numerous washouts from the monsoons last month. I actually did need 4-wheel drive in a couple of spots. I drove as far as possible and followed a game trail for a little ways, but it seemed to be going in the wrong direction. I ended up bushwhacking most of the way. I saw a likely spot but somehow didn't see the container, searched a couple of other areas, and then finally came back and had the head slapping moment. What a great view from here. I sat for a while just enjoying the scenery. I'm sure I would never have visited this area if not for geocaching. I left a travel bug that wants to spend time in lonely caches. Thanks for another great multi. I still need 3 more to get the final coordinates.

Billkat and I made another trip to the area to put a dent in this series. We are making progress but can see that we still have quite a bit of work to do. The dry roads made it doable in my Xterra. I'm glad we are working on these before it gets too hot. TFTC

WingsAndTales and I spent another day beating up the cactus and ourselves on these fun multis. We have all the first stages and finished three of the finals. We can now see what is in store for the rest of the multis. Not quite sure what to make of the Island yet though. Tftc!

Great spot for a cache and a nice view. Good jeep road too, only snow from last week caused a change in the terrain. The mud quickly caked up on the tires and now I know what it feels like to drive with bald tires down a very slippery slope. Thanks for the adventure and the opportunity to experience something new with the jeep. Next time I'll know what to do...let ernie66 drive in the mud.

Fortunately we had done the first stage of The Tempest early on so we could get the final on the same trip as stage 1 of another in the series. The road was muddy and very slippery in some areas, which made for an interesting descent. Spectacular area - our first time to see the interesting features up there. TFTC!
