Perhaps my favorite cache on our entire 11 day/3,800 mile trip. The hike through the yellowing rustling aspen leaves was unforgettable. I picked up three leaves along the trek and framed one of them for Little Leprechaun and gave it to her for Christmas. She deserved it, and so much more, as she was the one that inspired this entire journey west, drove us safely through the mountains, and even made the ultimate find of Muriel's container! (I still have the other two leaves tucked safely away in my china closet) Many many thanks to memnosine for an epic hike with my epic companions. I hope to return someday!

I found your cache as part of Team Irish Gold's Epic Roadtrip (or "TIGER"), a 3800 mile journey from my home in Pittsburgh to visit my daughter at her new home in Boulder. The drive was fun because of the great company of Goldilocks, the other half of Team Irish Gold. Along the way we found geocaches in 73 counties within eight states - with NO DNF's!

Today was our third full day in Colorado. My daughter (Little Leprechaun) joined us for fun adventures and drove us around the Peak to Peak highway, ending up in Estes Park. We had a great day! Goldilocks requested "a nice hike in the mountains to a cache with some terrain stars," and I chose this one. We were VERY happy with our choice! We had no idea that we'd be wandering through aspen groves -- more than I've ever seen -- or that we'd be treated to sweeping vistas of the mountains and valley. Little Leprechaun turned up the well-hidden cache once we reached ground zero. But, the hike was worth it regardless of the cache find. There is a whole trail network here for mountain bikers and it seemed accessible to beginners. Made me wish I had my bike!

Your cache earns not only a favorite point but also a spot on my "Top 5% Greatest Cache Hunts" bookmark list. Thanks, memnosine, for hiding and maintaining this cache!

Container had been muggled but we found the hiding spot and replaced the container. Signed (new) log. Beautiful spot - well worth the hike!

Found it but the container was missing where the bear must've hit it with his knee walking by, LOL so we put another similar sized container in there that you'll only be able to remove the lid, Great location cords were perfect, thanks for the placement

Ran the line of my caches in the area; this one is still good. The forest that was around it is gone, but the stump it inhabits was not worth cutting. Go for it.
