GOING BATTY #10

Welcome to my new Bat caches.  When I lived in Missouri during the summer of 2003, I worked at Ozark Caverns within Lake of The Ozarks State Park. Ozark Caverns has remained mostly natural as there is no lighting installed in the caves, which makes it a great habitat for bats.  I learned quite a bit about bats and wanted to create a few bat puzzle caches: the "Bump In The Night" for Snag The Tag is the perfect time to do it too.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

Bat Fact #10

Bats are designed to hang upside down.

As you may know, bats roost and hibernate by hanging upside down!

So how do they keep all the blood from flooding their brains?

Well, bats have evolved one-way valves in their venous bloodstream to keep their heads and brains from drowning in blood. It also helps that bats have small brains, and the pressure isn’t much anyway.

Hanging upside down provides a lot of safety for bats because it makes it difficult for preying animals to reach and locate them. In addition, there is virtually no competition from other creatures for space since hanging is not a popular sleeping methodology—bats have their pick of these otherwise hard to access locations.

Found it. Finished up this series today. It has been fun and to some extent educational (the toolbox). Too bad this series stopped at 13. It would have been nice to have lasted through Halloween. Signed each log and replaced each cache. Neat cache containers. Thanks Jbullfrogcache for this fun series.

Had a great morning picking up all 13 Going Batty caches with LittleAries. After yesterday's rain/snow and cold it was nice to have a sunny day for caching. Even got to watch the Blue Angels and other acrobatic planes practicing for this weekend's show. All containers were very cute and in good condition.
Thank you, jbullfrogcache, for creating this series. I love these types of do-able puzzles. We look forward to the associated "Bump In The Night" event.

It is a nice afternoon and I thought that I would go a little batty and try to grab all the current "Going Batty" caches. I was successful and all the caches were as advertised. I enjoyed the clever container! Thanks for the effort to put out all of these fun caches!
