GOING BATTY #9

Welcome to my new Bat caches.  When I lived in Missouri during the summer of 2003, I worked at Ozark Caverns within Lake of The Ozarks State Park. Ozark Caverns has remained mostly natural as there is no lighting installed in the caves, which makes it a great habitat for bats.  I learned quite a bit about bats and wanted to create a few bat puzzle caches: the "Bump In The Night" for Snag The Tag is the perfect time to do it too.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

Bat Fact #9

Pulmonary system

Bats have pseudo-venous-hearts. This means that when they beat their wings hard and fast, the centrifugal effect traps blood at the outer edge. They even have muscular areas out near the wingtips that can squeeze the blood back inwards so that the blood can be recirculated. Also, they have weird shunts between arteries and veins that can move blood back before it goes as far as the wingtips.

Puzzle:

The following five bats are just a start of all the species of bats discovered.

Brown Long-Eared Bat

Lesser Short-Nosed Fruit Bat

Old World leaf-nosed bats

Ontong Java flying fox

Desert Long-Eared Bat

Found it. Finished up this series today. It has been fun and to some extent educational (the toolbox). Too bad this series stopped at 13. It would have been nice to have lasted through Halloween. Signed each log and replaced each cache. Neat cache containers. Thanks Jbullfrogcache for this fun series.

Had a great morning picking up all 13 Going Batty caches with LittleAries. After yesterday's rain/snow and cold it was nice to have a sunny day for caching. Even got to watch the Blue Angels and other acrobatic planes practicing for this weekend's show. All containers were very cute and in good condition.
Thank you, jbullfrogcache, for creating this series. I love these types of do-able puzzles. We look forward to the associated "Bump In The Night" event.

It is a nice afternoon and I thought that I would go a little batty and try to grab all the current "Going Batty" caches. I was successful and all the caches were as advertised. I enjoyed the clever container! Thanks for the effort to put out all of these fun caches!
