A nice hike through Apex Park mostly on the Apex Trail.  The cache is located in the beginning of the Enchanted Forest Trail, which is mostly in the shade.

From the parking lot to the cache is approximately 1.5 miles one way.  The cache hiding location is approximately 15 feet uphill from the main trail, but there's an easier and slightly longer way to exit the main trail to walk up to the hiding location.  You can see the cache hiding spot from the Enchanted Forest Trail, although you can't see the cache itself from the trail.  Cache container is a small plastic thermos covered in camo duct tape.  Probably going to be difficult to find if there is snow on the ground.  Room for a couple of small trackables.

Since this is bear and mountain lion country, please don't leave any candy or anything scented in the cache...

***Congrats to Greasepot for FTF on 10/3/17!***

Hint #1: Cache is hidden under some rocks at the top of a 4 foot crevice between two small boulders.
Hint #2: There are a series of sticks in the crevice between the two rocks, and these can be seen from the Enchanted Forest Trail.

Coming from the Apex trail, there was a side stream that was overflowing the trail with ice on the way down to the main stream. Once across that, the enchanted forest was a nice change. TFTC

Glorious morning to be on the trails! About a 3.5 mi round trip to get this one. I really like this shaded trail and thanks for getting me back up here. Saw a 4 ft bull snake crossing the trail on my way down. Cheers!

Out for a beautiful walk in Apex this morning with Garlic. The aspen are a beautiful color and the snow from last night is all melted. 9:44:00 AM% Thanks! Another FTF! I left the FTF prize for the next hiker. I tried to drop a travel bug, but it was too big. We did see bear scat on the trail, and heard elk bugling.
