Field Puzzle

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. Solve the puzzle to find the cache container location.

Welcome to the Colorado Geo-Poker Tour (CGPT)

In this geocaching game, you will be searching for CGPT caches. Each cache will represent an individual card in a 52 card deck; therefore, there will be a total of 52 CGPT caches hidden. As you accumulate more of the CGPT caches, the higher the ranking of your hand will become.

For example, let us assume that you have fond the Three of Spades, the Four of Hearts, Five of Clubs and Seven of Diamonds. As soon as you find the Six of any suit you will have a seven-high straight (3s, 4h, 5c, 6?, 7d).

Once you find the cache, sign the paper log and report the find on geocaching.com, you will then have that "cache card" in your hand. To add more "cache cards" to your hand simply find more of the CGPT caches.

Each cacher will have a different hand-value, based on which of the CGPT caches that they have found. If you are the first to find a CGPT cache you will receive a "FTF bonus point". Points will be used to determine the winner between tied hands (in other words, 2 players have a spade royal flush). The winner will be the one with the most bonus points (FTFs).

The CGPT will end on Saturday, October 11th. Card caches will continue to be accepted for your hands until Friday, October 10th at 8:00 p.m. local time. An event on Saturday, October 11th will be held to wrap up this competion, please see the event for more details.

Important Rule Update: To have your cards tracked (for the competition) your log must EXACTLY start with the words, "I want to play". If your log does not contain these words, your cards will not be tracked and you will not be eligible for the competition. If you should forget to put the words at the beginning of your log and you go back and EDIT your log, your play will NOT be tracked. Instead, you should delete your mistake log and repost a found log with the correct words. Thank you for your cooperation with this, it will assist me in not tracking cachers that do not want to compete.

Additional Requirements: Because the points only count towards bonuses that you will recieve at the event (and there's no reason to track your points if you're not coming to the event), you must post a "Will Attend" log on the event cache. No points will be tracked from this point forward until a "Will Attend" log is posted.

Solved the puzzle a long time ago. Today we made the short walk and found the cache.

As I approached the area I was a little bit nervous about all of that this week is going to be. But then I looked and saw that the rain was only up to so I figured it could be that bad. I quickly had the container in hand once I actually looked for it.

Cache #2094! I was nervous approaching this one because of the previous logs, but luckily we found GZ fairly easily. There were a lot of people at the nearby school, but no one was paying attention to us. After a few minutes, we honed in on the right spot and found success! TFTC!

Roadtrip to Metro for personal business so took the opportunity to get some of the puzzles that I had solved as well as other convenient caches. TFTC!

I was in the area and decided to stop by to grab this one. I don't know when I solved for the coordinates, and I never seem to make it around to sign the final. I'm trying to change that so here I am. When I saw where GZ was, I thought maybe I'd come back in the winter. I glanced around, decided to approach from a certain way, and it wound up being in the first place I looked! (I like to say sometimes it's better to be lucky than skilled...) There was a wolf spider den right next to the cache. I had a few of those in my garage in Arkansas, and I know how big they can get. So... I got a stick and removed only as much of the web as I needed to. Moved quickly to grab the cache. Put it back in place and used the stick to wiggle it back as it was. Thanks for the ? cache! Find #2767.

TFTCSL I almost decided not to look for this one after arriving at gz. Luckily after cursory search it showed up quickly. All is well.

Not too hard to figure this one out. Not like other caches that will stay in my note book. They have been there two years already. Had wanted to do puzzle caches after retirement, but just got around to figuring out how to use an Etrex, as I had been spoiled by my phone APP. All is well with the container, but the log was a bit damp. Could still log my name, so not really a problem. TFTC

Third time is the charm! We were very happy to find the cache pretty quickly today, after striking out twice before. Today, the cache came complete with a Travel Slug, not to be confused with a Travel Bug. (Photo to follow.) Whew! Are we glad to have this one off our "to do" list. TFTC!

I went on a 31 mile geocaching bike ride today and this was one of the caches I found. I made the find at 11:22 am and 15 minutes after my previous find. TFTC! I solved the puzzle a long time ago and finally got to the area today.
