This cache is dedicated to my grandpa who was a forefather in in the scientific field of crystallography.   The top of this pencil case looks like a crystal structure.

Two years without a find for a regular container. So while I was up there I replaced it with a match container which was all I had with me. I have e-mailed the CO and gotten approval for the replacement & this found it log. Unfortunately while I was putting in the log I dropped the lid & it disappeared into the depths of rock caverns. So it is in a plastic baggie but will need to be replaced again by the CO or another kind cacher who is willing to lug a regular size container up here. It is a very steep trail in many places.

I was so bummed to get all the way up here & not be able to find this cache. The section of trail right before is extremely steep and rocky. I remember it being real tough on our horses. We walked them back down as that is more dangerous than up. I looked for this one for over 1/2 hour. The area has lots of bits & pieces of very old down trees all over the rocks.

The geocaching gods were not with me today. I tried on the way up and down, used the clue and still could not find it. My GPS was bouncing around a lot today for some reason. Enjoyed the hike though!
