Along side mountain road. Only about 100 yds off road. Beautiful Picnic area. Not steep but a little climbing over rocks will be necessary.
Ready for a picnic? Bring your lunch and lawn chairs and enjoy one of the nicest little private picnic areas around. This site is in White River National Forest. Ivanhoe Creek along side provides a beautiful setting. Look back down the Frying Pan River Valley and enjoy one of the last unspoiled valleys in Colorado. Find this spot and either picnic here or travel only 0.1 mile further up the road to the next wide spot and picnic here also along side the creek but a bit more shade. Nice easy access down step-like rocks to a large flat area to set up your chairs. Too nice to miss! Cache is small tupperware containing log book, pen and pencil, old eraser, old bobby pin, fish scaler, old fly line leader spool, old popper lure, lag bolt, reel wrench, lump of Colorado coal, church key, round magnet, homemade tin box, old airmail stamp. ENJOY!

Began this geocaching trip at Turquoise Lake heading up Hagerman Pass and on to Basalt. We stopped for lunch before crossing creek and it decided to hail and pour. The rocks were very slippery after the rain but I was able to get across. The cache is very well protected with 2 ziplock bags, one City Market bag and one other bag from a store i can't remember the name. Obviously the log was dry and in good condition. TFTF

Found cache to be in need of maintenance. Still wonderful place for picnic. Replaced soggy log book and removed a few items that had overpacked cache container. Removed old bandages, 2 rocks and soggy unused log book papers. Added new log book and new pen. Cache now double wrapped with baggies. In good shape.

Checked on condition of cache. In really good shape. A few signs of rodent nibbling, but nothing too damaging. Left cache in same place I originally placed it. Lots of goodies to peruse. TNLN.

This should have been called Shangri-La. We soaked our tired feet in the stream, found it very rejuvenating. TFTC TNLN SL
