Site is located on the North Rim of the Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park and can be accessed via CO Highway 92. North Rim road is just South of the Crawford reservoir. North Rim Road and ranger station are closed in winter. Please check with The National Park Service before going during the winter months.
The Black Canyon of the Gunnison's unique and spectacular landscape was formed slowly by the action of water and rock scouring down through hard Proterozoic crystalline rock. No other canyon in North America combines the narrow opening, sheer walls, and startling depths offered by the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. From http://www.nps.gov/blca/

Out with family. Our first time in this area. Being from out east, we don't have views of this grand scale. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Posting a picture of one of the bighorn sheep we saw.

Camping at the South Rim for the night and after setting up my tent I headed out to drive the rim and see how many of the caches I could get before I lost the light. This was a very cool location - okay, every time I stopped I was saying the same thing. This place was really amazing.

we were visiting the park and doing the earth caches when Michele said there's a virtual cache near by so off we went to find it . Got to within 700 ft. cache was on the other side of the george to get there we needed to take an 83 mile car. not today
