Legend tells of a secret dragon treasure hidden on the grounds of what is now known as the Montbello library branch! To locate the treasure, you will need to journey by sailing vessel (and by sailing vessel, we mean legs) to 4 different islands, collecting important clues along the way.

These voyages will not be easy nor without peril! There will be reading comprehension, life-or-death riddles, and fiendish but elementary mathematical calculations at each turn (**GASP**)!

You must also bring with you a “Stick of Power” (AA 1.5v battery)

If you feel you are unable to complete this journey, should surely turn back now, in order to avoid becoming a tasty dragon morsel!

Those of you brave enough to continue on this adventure should seek the assistance of the resident dragon guide to assist you. Proceed from the coordinates, through the portal entrance, and proceed to the "Great Nook" guarded by two "Vikings" staffing the desks at the front , approximately 55ft at a heading of 38.18 degrees.

In the great Nook you will see a treasure box (for opening later) and a copy of the Dragon Guide. Use this book to complete your journey!

This cache series would not be possible without the enthusiastic and supportive help of the staff at the Denver Public Library! To celebrate the series, DPL has released a passport program! The first 200 geocachers to legitimately log the series, record the secret codes found within their geocaches, and turn in the completed passports will receive a special, limited-edition Denver Public Library Geocoin!

More information can be found on the DPL web site. Happy Caching!

 Hints

Start - The Nook is just in front of the two librarian desks.
1 - If he's not working, make sure his battery pack is turned on in the back.
2 - Lower left, higher right. Orientation of the stick of power is not important.
3 - It burns.
4 - If you can't find it, go up to the front and ask the "Vikings" for help

The "NOT A TOY" stickers are not meant for the geocachers. It's meant to deter muggle-kids.

Oh, what fun! This is our last in the DPL series and we’ve loved seeing the libraries and solving the puzzles. Thank you, DPL and cache owners!

Not sure why I wandered around like a goof for awhile, but once I finally spotted something that made sense, I was on my way to solving this one! Fortunately, I had no more problems and was soon signing the log. Thanks for a fun cache that no doubt provided the people in charge with free entertainment, watching my clueless meandering! Giving it a fav for creativity!

This was challenging and fun!! Took a while for this dimwit (me) to figurr out where to sail. Then i got it. My dyslexia complicated the computations at the end, but I figured it out. Tftc! Fav.

This was a fun little challenge... “stick of power” was already in the dungeon... 6 of 26 on the DPL series.

Phew! I had a very small window to figure this out. Actually it should have been plenty large but I'm going with the heat fried my brain today. After a question I finally caught on. Then I couldn't get something to work. Another duh moment and I had that answer. Tried the combination and it didn't work. Took it to another area and suddenly it was open. Again, phew! Left a TB for the next hunter. Very different cache than I've seen, fav point.

Great dragon adventure at Montbello! Luckily, I read the flavor text before, and came prepared. This was my first time visiting this library. There were lots of fantastic murals - here's a pic of one of my favorites, spoiler-free.
Thanks for taking the time to make this a fantastic cache.

Very cool cache! I must've looked really bewildered as I walked in circles because one of the librarians started doing hot and cold directions for me as I made my way through the stages. The help was greatly appreciated. TFTC!!!!
