I have waders ...
And I had geo-support from GraniteGrabber, who stayed at the parking spot but provided encouragement that is greatly appreciated.
Been looking at this one for several months now, as it hasn't been found in over 3 years and is close to home -- home being Woodland Park.
Now that all of the snow and ice has melted off (not going to try to cross the river when it is iced over) today was the day to pack up the waders and the geo-bag and head out. Beautiful day -- blue skies and sunshine.
Waded across the river with no problem, made it to GZ and Holy Smokies there are a lot of possible hiding spots. And pine needles everywhere -- not found in over 3 years. Hmmm ...
After about 15 minutes of looking with the rocks throwing my gps pointer in every direction imaginable and jumping by 50 feet or so on occasion, I asked myself: "Self, where would YOU hide it amongst all of these non-descript rocks?" Think, think, think -- and look for SOMETHING that isn't like all the others. And -- GOT IT.
Stamped the log and had a trackable that barely fit into the container. Then headed south to the nearby Stone's Cachebox 1B.
TFTC -- the log was still nice and dry !

This was the cache we were most excited to get to today. The river crossing was fun and it has a fun name. The prickly plants...ouch on the feet! Once you get across the field, it's a lot easier to scramble up to the rocks.
We scared a snake, (who also scared us!), on the way back to the river. Fun times!
