This is a short hike but the last part is mostly scree and a lot of route finding on your own. Beautiful back country. I had a very long search but the GZ was locked in hard and kept returning me to the same place. I mentally gave up on this cache many times thinking that it had been muggled or perhaps removed by some wilderness personnel, but still I persisted. Finally was able to make the find, but it is only eye level if you are 6'6"" or taller. I truly thought that this one had vanished, but since I was the only one on the riverbank, I had plenty of time to search and re-search. It should be an easy find, but for me, it was not. Trust in your GZ lock and look up. The hike out was definitely steeper and harder. Leave time to get out. Thanks for the awesome experience. [FTF]

Got within .1 of GZ and had to turn back. The trail was a little too steep for the old geo-dog to find his way down and it is hard to maintain 3 points of contact for my own safety when I am trying to show him the way. I shall return, dog free.

Looked for about 1/2 hour but no luck. A bit awkward as GZ is right beside campsite #1 which was occupied today. Lots of trees to look at but no sign of the cache. Great area and exhilarating hike (amazed that someone got down that steep trail with a full backpack on!), glad we were only carrying light day-packs.
