This is another of my wife's favorite hikes. Beautiful mountains and if you go in the fall the mountains will be ablaze with wonderful aspen color. The hike into the cache is not particularly difficult but there is about 600 foot of elevation gain in just under 2 miles.
The cache is bigger than an Altoid tin but smaller than an ammo box. It is a tin camoed box. It contains a nice deck of cards for the first to find and a few miscellaneous trinkets.
Winter time hunting might be marginal depending on deepness of snow. The site is certainly accessible via cross country skies or snow shoes

I made the hike to replace the cache. I moved the cache slightly so maybe it won't be muggled. While the old coordinates will get you close the new coordinates are N 39 24.795 W 106 08.815

What a great hike in the snow. Made it to the top with my wife. Took a bit of searching but made the grab at 1410. This is my highest cache to date.

Out for a couple weeks of camping and made a rather large list of caches I wanted to try and get. This one made the list. What a great spot for a cache and an easy hike. I am glad to say it is still there and now has my name on the log sheet. You get a fav point for this one. TFTC SL

Mrs. Soloyo made the hike to the Boston mine area today with her girl friend to check on the Boston mine cache. She reports it is right where it is supposed to be. The log is dry and there is a pencil with it. We hope the next cachers find it. Not sure why there have been DNFs

Mrs. Soloyo will try to get up there to check on this cache in the next few weeks. I am no longer able to hike up to the mine so if Mrs. Soloyo doesn’t find it I will have to archive it. Last we heard there was still quite a bit of snow around the buildings.
