The Town of Parker is excited to invite the caching community to a CITO to come help on their annual Mayor's Day of Service.
Event from 9-noon. Please come help as much as you can. Earn your Season 2 CITO souvenir too! 

 

Project Details

Many hands are needed for fire mitigation and trail clean up along the Cherry Creek Trail.  Help keep our trails and homes safe from brush fires.

  • Meet at Salisbury Equestrian Park (by the Polo Field) at 9am, plenty of parking is available. Follow the signs to parking. Look for the GCCO banner after parking.
  • Create piles of debris, small logs, etc in the open space surrounding the trail for the Town's Parks, Trails, and Forestry department to pick up.
  • Trail clean-up along the trail for those who wish/need to stay on the trail. (Wheelchair accessible here only)
  • Garbage Bags provided.
  • Close-toed/heel shoes & gloves are a must!
  • Hats, sunscreen, loose long sleeve shirts, long pants recommended.
  • Water provided -- bottles and jugs for water bottle refills
  • All ages welcome

Found plenty of trash behind the pop up tents along the trees & bushes, turned in that bag (see pic) then filled 2 more bags along the parking lot towards the lake. Thanks for hosting and making a positive impression for geocachers.

Got directed to the wrong parking lot, but no worries met a couple of other cachers there and since we had trash bags with us off we went :-) Filled two bags and found a set of car keys which I turned in to the volunteers at the entrance. All kinds of activities on the ball diamonds, the fields, the equestrian center and walkers/runners ;-) Thanks to the hosts!!

That was such a fun event. I am exhausted now but ai regret none of it. Everyone was so nice and I even got the opportunity to grab some geocaches along the way.
