Red light, The Scarlet Letter, The Red Badge of Courage, ripe apples. In the Colorado flag, the red C represents earth, much of which is reddish in Colorado.

Red Mountain overlooks central Manitou Springs and is reachable via the Red Mountain Trail heading up from the Paul Intemann Trail (also known as the Ring The Peak Trail in this area).

Welcome to Colorful Colorado signs greet travelers on major highways as they enter the state. Don't let the drab brown sign and monochromatic backdrop at most of the highway border crossings fool you. From the clear blue sky and the pure white of snow to the red sandstone rocks, golden aspen, dark night skies, and the deep green of the forest, this cache series invites you to experience some of our state's less-traveled places, to stop and and absorb your surroundings, and to allow yourself to be changed by them.

There are seven caches in the series - six different colors that may be found in any order and a final cache that combines color-coded clues obtained from inside the front cover of the logbook in each of the other six. Although all of Colorado is colorful, this entire series stays within the Pikes Peak region. Some are short hikes, some a little longer, but there are no dangerous exposures or difficult climbs. Any mountain hike can be dangerous of course, so bring a map and be prepared for changing weather, wildlife encounters, and high elevations.

Congratulations to shamrock&angel - first to find!

First of all, why is this cache 1.5 difficulty and 2.5 terrain, I think that's a CO multiplier in play because by PA standards this is 3/4 and by SC standards it's 4/5 :-D
I made this one way harder for myself because I erroneously followed what I thought was a regular trail, that then became a deer trail, became thinner and steeper, then it was gone and I was basically mountaineering where one wrong step could cost me my life.
Anyways, this cache is pretty awesome none of the less and I'm awarding it a favorite point and left 2 trackables. TFTC

We continued the hike on up to this one. Was some steep pitches but we all made it then took a break nearby.

I was sluggish and not feeling like exercising all week, but I finally got talked into this great hike. Started off freezing, but by the time we got to the top I was warmed up and actually running to the peak from our last find. Thanks for placing this cache for us to enjoy!

Final cache of the day with this group of hikers. THeSKuLL found it quickly and had the log out before we even caught up to him. Thanks for placing this one!
