Quick stop off the highway to just say you've been to the 38th Parallel.
Take Exit 77 off of I-25 and go to the frontage road on the east side of the highway. Please do not try to park on the interstate to do this cache. Almost no room to park, but this should be a quick grab on a very little traveled road. It's a nano hanging in plain sight as close to the 38th parallel as we could get. The readings kept changing on us, so it might be a few feet off the 38 mark.

Bring your own pen.

Headed home to New Mexico from my 21st Burning Man. This is very significant for me. You see, back in 1976-77, every third day my platoon, 2nd Platoon - Mad Dogs, was on "North Duty," Panmunjom, 38th Parallel. My unit - USASG-JSA or just JSA (Joint Security Area - google it) I noticed only one other entry below of a soldier who had visited Panmunjom. When I was there, it was late Cold War and we were daily actively engaged with the North Koreans - August 18, 1976, they jumped and killed my company commander, Capt Bonifas and our 1st Platoon Leader, 1Lt Mark Barrett. August 21 we had a massive show-of-force, may have come very close to reopening active combat with them (Google the JSA Axe Murders or Tree Incident). Just up in Denver is one of my buddies who was there with me. Will let him and other on our JSA facebooks know about this spot.

How peaceful this place is. Wow. 38th Parallel.....................
