Dogs  Scenic view  Significant hike  Difficult climbing  Available at all times  Dangerous Animals  Thorns  Seasonal Access

You will need a 4-wheel drive high clearance vehicle to reach Sugar Loaf Mountain. You know you're close when you see the sandy wash beneath it.

No trail here. About a 1/2 mile hike. Once on top, you can't miss the cairn that our family had fun building over 7 years ago. Cairn is not safe to climb and cache is NOT on top of it.  You will bust your . . . .elbow.  Enjoy the great views of the valley floor, the wild horses, and the Rio Grande River. Watch out for cactus and rattlesnakes.

 Hints

If you keep following the wash you will end up at the Rio Grande River. Many people access the river via this route.

We were surprised to see that many signatures on the log. Most of them must be muggles, though. Maybe the cache is no longer at its original location?! We had to do some housecleaning and carry out candy and cosmetics. Beautiful views from up here. It almost seems like you can see forever. Thanks for getting us up here.

(FTF) This was a fun cache that will give you a workout climbing up to the great views. It took some effort to build the cairn at the top. Thanks!
