If you've spent today hiking the DeCaLiBron Loop, then you've likely spent at least a couple hours hiking at elevations above 14,000'. This cache will give you a chance to head down in elevation to the rich, thick atmosphere at 13,980' to stock up on some oxygen before making the final push back down to your vehicle.
From South Bross, continue down the ridge to the south, and you will get spectacular views of Mt. Buckskin to the west, and Mt. Democrat to the northwest. Several cirques are visible, attesting to the glaciation that once sculpted these mountains.
The cache is located in a low cairn of white rock. Many of these rocks have red, yellow, orange, or black lichen on them, which are aiding in early stages of weathering the rocks into soil.
08/06/2017 By PayMeCache After reaching the fourth peak, taking the necessary photos, finding all the geocaches in our route and taking celebratory shots of fireball crumbcrunchers and I parted ways with KJKlock and Koalacanukpappa. crumbcruchers and I headed over to find this cache and another (that was close by) before we too headed down the mountain because we are crazy like that. This one was much quicker to locate than the last The cache and log is in great shape here. I appreciated the addition of this cache on the mountain and the difficulty / terrain rating of the cache.
Found GC4N7NM - Into Thick Air, on August 6, 2017 using Cachly for iOS.
Thank you, Me & Bucky for placing a fun cache for all of us to enjoy and giving back to the community. I look forward to finding more of your caches. I also look forward to potentially finding Geocaches with you one day and sharing stories of our hobby or should I say addiction? Cheers!
08/06/2017 By YamaGypsy Met up with KJKlock, Pay me cache and Koalacanukpapa to bag these 4 peaks. We started at 4am. Great weather the whole day. Amazing views! Thanks for adding to our smiles today.

10/15/2015 By WingsAndTales I took an unconventional route to this one. After a 10+ mile hike from Weston Pass to get caches and summit Horseshoe Mt I still had a fair amount of daylight. I drove my Xterra up the road from Windy Ridge and managed to get to 13,800 before there was too much snow to continue. It was an interesting road to say the least. I hiked up and over to the trail and down to a couple newer caches and then back up to the top and over to this one. I was beat by the time I was heading back to my car but the sun was starting to get low and I still had to drive down. It was a long day but the snow is coming the high altitude caches won't be accessible much longer this year. TFTC
