Cache site is just west of Ridgway, in Ouray County, off of Highway 62, and an easy walk of less than ¼ mile from the parking area, across reasonably even terrain, though no specific pathway exists. The cache has been placed with the permission & approval of the board of directors of this special historical site & public area. Cache is in plain sight, but may not be recognized at first. DO NOT OPEN MANHOLE COVER near cache coordinates -- cache is not under it.
Parking area coordinates: N 38:09.516' W 107:47.910' Please park on the gravel "road" to keep the paved road clear for others.

Although this historical site began as a burying ground beside the Dallas Park Church (long gone now) as early as 1884, Dallas Park Cemetery was not incorporated as an official cemetery until 1893. The recorded cost for lots in 1902 was $10.00 each. Because burials began many years before the first part of the cemetery was blocked-out and platted into rows in 1902, it is possible to spot older headstones & footstones that are out-of-alignment with the platted burial sites. Only the front 5 acres of the cemetery’s 16 acres contains burials & headstones. Dallas Park Cemetery is currently funded by a local property-tax mil levy, and by the purchase of burial plots by district residents and non-residents. "Dallas" appears on many placenames in this county, named for George N. Dallas, the Vice-President of the United States between 1845 & 1849 under James K. Polk. Cemetery visitors are welcome to contact cemetery board or caretakers with any questions or comments -- contact information is posted at the entrance to the cemetery.

CACHE: Container description will not be provided, since it is in plain sight. However, it may not immediately be identifiable!

After finishing the CoM's in Delta, we headed south for a few new counties. We couldn't have picked a better time to visit this area as the views were spectacular. Still had a lot of fall colors to enjoy plus the snow covered mountain tops. A very enjoyable afternoon adventure. This was a quick stop and a bonus in that it helps with a cemetery challenge. Nice hide. SL. TFTC

Thanks for another fun cache in this large long running series. Spent some time in Cortez while on a family vacation. We explored Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, and Canyons of the Ancients. Enjoyed lots of learning experiences for the kids. Grabbed this one on the way home! It's hard to pass up and spirit quest or cemetery cache. Wow! This one did not disappoint! Quick find and the kids laughed when the saw me pull it out from it's hiding location! Stamped the log and replaced as found! Great hide! Thanks for building and placing this one for us all to enjoy!

One cool cache. Always love the cemetery caches and was really surprised when I saw that this actually was a cemetery cache. Beautiful setting, and nice misty day. Hopefully the rain has put out some of the fires because we're heading towards Durango. You did a great job on this cache. it's got lots of room for trade. The area is gorgeous and we saw some little deer friends. This will definitely get a favorite from me when we're in an area that. Thanks for the hide.

No wonder this has so many favorites. I can see why. This is one of the more unique caches we have found. It's a damp, cool day and we are headed to Silverton and Telluride. The moisture is so much needed in this part of Colorado. I am glad to see the rain. I am hoping for a little sunshine so my friend Sproutsnana can see the beautiful peaks in this part of Colorado. Thanks for the hide. Great fun!

Enjoying time with extended family and friends. We stopped to enjoy some caches along the way. The fire in Durango kept us on the road a lot longer than planned. I hope everyone is OK. TFTC. SL.
