A tribute to the USMC and those who have served.  The caches are at or close to sites that have some connection to the USMC. Please do not try to take any new construction apart.

The Navy Distinguished Service Medal, the third most prestigious award a Marine can receive.
The Navy Distinguished Service Medal is bestowed upon members of the Navy or Marine Corps who distinguish themselves by exceptionally meritorious service to the United States government in a duty of great responsibility.[1] The term “great responsibility” implies senior military responsibility, and the decoration is normally only bestowed to senior Navy Flag and Marine Corps General Officers. The decoration is rarely awarded to enlisted personnel, and then only to those who hold extremely senior enlisted positions such as the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy, or Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps.

This cache is close to the USMC recruiting station where I signed up.  There is parking close but please use stealth.

I had resisted trying to find this one because of the really high muggle factor. I had looked a bit this winter but the plowed snow had obscured much of the area. but I stopped by today to get gas and took a closer look and noticed the sidewalk this time which often can give a good explanation as to why someone is in a somewhat unusual place. So I got a good spot to park and tried a couple of hidey holes & there it was. I had forgotten my pen so back to the car & I then realized someone who was pumping gas was watching me. Oh well, too late now, it had to be returned.

Out in the area tonight and this was near by. Well not as easy as I was wanting it to be. None the less we made the find.

Some may say we are crazy, but this game/hobby is one of the greatest gifts. Who doesn’t love a great scavenger hunt. Hiking, biking or driving hundreds of miles to sign our name on a piece of paper. This brings us a lifetime of joy.
