Out on a hike after attending the Chili Cook Off Event COPackRat, CrumbCrunchers, and I headed over here to get a couple caches.  I brought along this container to place along the way.  We discovered this Quarry while exploring.  I often wonder about the history of some locations you come across.  This spot is no exception.  We contemplated what this might have been used for and how far back.  I could easily see some native americans creating arrowheads up here while looking out over the valley at potential prey.  More modern times maybe a collection point for some slate tiles?  Where the cache is hidden is a fantastic rock that has been split over time.  It would probably make for a great earth cache!  Take the time to poke around.  Who knows what you might find!

Took a couple minutes for us to work out the pattern, but it was worth it. Final was a nice spot to have a seat and some snacks. Tons of wildflowers in bloom - beautiful. TN, L-TB (although it is in the owner's collection so can't log it - owner gave permission to move it). TFTC.

The first time up here, I didn't figure the puzzle out. I took a picture and was able to figure it out and months later made it back up here to get this one. Swapped TB's.

This was a pretty cool multi. Took me a minute to figure out the code & which sign to use but my horse didn't mind as there was good grass to munch.
Just a shot in the dark but I wonder if the quarry was designed to hold water then send it down below in the summer? Curious... the rock is rhyolite tuff which is volcanic. Very soft
I picked up one of the TBs & added a fav point for a cache I could ride to.

Great spot for a cache! Amazing that you found it. OK. I think I prefer birdhouses to rocks. But happy that there was another cache in this area.

The puzzle went smoothly and we made our way to GZ. How do you find these places?! Swapped out a TB, TFTC!

The puzzle gradually took shape and I was able to make the find during a very enjoyable hike on the plateau. Thanks for placing a multi here in an interesting spot.
