CONGRATULATIONS TO Tahosa and Sons FOR THE FTF!!! His Found it log is filled with nuances pertaining specifically to his adventures with this cache.

This cache is a tribute to Tahosa and Sons, published on the 15th anniversary of his first day of geocaching–September 9, 2001.

Through these 15 years Tahosa’s influence on many cachers has been significant. His patient instruction and creative caches have inspired many cachers to learn and become skilled in geoteering methodologies–to use maps, scalers, and to learn and employ the remarkable “power” of hand-held GPS units. Thank you for the lessons and the motivational influences your work over 15 years has had on many!

This is a 3-stage multi-cache that is probably more easily accomplished with a hand-held GPS unit than with a smart phone. Stages 1 and 2 direct you onward, if you understand datums. In each stage container, a “hint” is provided that targets the correct choice you need to make to advance to the next stage.

The stages are hidden in a State Wildlife Area. Caching is permitted in the area but there are seasonal restrictions. From March 15th through July 15th, the waterfowl nesting period, public access is prohibited–this prohibition is enforced, so don’t enter the area during this period so important to our nesting waterfowl and to certain shorebirds. Public access is also restricted from the first day of waterfowl hunting season (October 1st) to the first day of pheasant hunting season (about November 12th), although during this period access IS allowed on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and holidays. During periods when public use is permitted, dogs are allowed but they must be on leash at all times. All cache stages can be reached from the suggested parking area, but it is far more time-efficient to return to your vehicle after finding the second stage, and then to drive to another parking spot that will become logical once you know the coordinates for the Final.

Enjoy this tribute multi and its underlying meaning, as well as the wildlife area you will experience!

Have had this one on the planned list for a bit now. But with time running out to get it this year, we rushed out at lunch to find this one. There was quite a bit of head scratching, circling, and even a debate since we had half of the solution figured out but hadn't thought it all the way through. Finally all the pieces came together and the cache was pretty quickly found. I was feeling a bit like Piglet on a rather blustery day. I had to stop and catch my breath once because of fighting so hard to walk into the wind that literally stopped me in my tracks a time or two. Thanks so much for the fun multi and learning something new.

Finally read this one and then realized we are only a few days away to the area being closed off for a few months. Looked like a nice enough day to go out for a lunch time grab. Honeybuzzed and I made the trek and with a little push from another finder was on to make the stages work and the final find.

What a great cache. Thanks for the find and fun.

Out grabbing some caches today. The weather was perfect for caching. We enjoyed the placements.

Second visit to the second waypoint. We could not come up with the clue. We finally found it (with a nudge from the CO) and then found the final without issue. We did replace the cracked container at stage one. All other stages were in good shape. Thank you for the fun. We signed the log.

Thank you, Denali41, for placing this cache.

I recently had seen the publication of this cache as a tribute to Tahosa and Sons for his contribution to the game we all love to play and I finally got around to it this morning , after finding stage 1 I was wondering what colorful creation Denali41 had concocted for me . With the recent rain showers this one was definitely "soup dejour" having mixed in pinto beans instead of Irish potatoes when the menu clearing stated potato soup today I had to rethink my errors as I came up short on stage 2 , after a little more figiting with with gpsr I set down a new path , with little searching I came up with next ingredients ( stage 2 and the final) and ended up with a great tasting pot of creamy potato soup ,thanks Denali41 for another fun filled cache to make me think more outside the box and thank you Tahosa for teaching us over the years different ways to play this great game!
