On Shelf Road.
This is not a cache for the youngsters. Park at
N 38 40.576 W 105 12.914. You will see the big red rock as you pull into the parking space. Yes that's it at the top with a 500 foot increase in elevation. Less than 200 feet from the parking area. Hope you are part mountain goat. My husband placed this cache and was back down in about 40 minutes. Happy Hiking. Watch out for loose rocks and cactus. Original contents include good stuff for the guys like craftsman tools, old coins, and much more.

Well, I spent about 20 minutes looking around ground zero, great view, but no cache... :-(
Had a nice Trackable to drop off as well. Oh well, TFTC, enjoyed the climb.

Found this little guy hanging out near ground zero

After grabbing a new one around the corner, I had enough left in the tank to try this one.

I wish that I could have found the original container, it was placed before I even started caching.

Thanks for a hide with a veiw!

I put it back where I found it and the hint is no good anymore.

I have been by here many times and never had the time to hike to the top. Today was a beautifull day so Olive and I made the climb. Alot of loose rocks, bushes, and cactuse. Great views from the cache. There are no trackables in the cache, so I was dissapointed about that. SL TFTC

WOW!!! I of course, went up the hard side.....felt like I was rock climbing straight up. What a climb!! My lungs were screaming at me. I live at 800ft elevation, so this 9000ft stuff is hard. It felt like 19,000ft ;) Made it to the cache. I did find the 380 bullet so ryan7nails did make it there :) Once I had the view, I choose to come down the other side, and it was WAY easier. I felt my camera in the truck, so I didnt get any pictures from up by the cache :(
SL, Thanks for the awesome cache!!

We were remembering this cache and realized that we still needed to tag it as a favorite. Thanks for the memories! Smile

Ernie66 and I sure didn’t expect this one to go missing! We were so confident about it that we both left our backpacks in the car and headed up to the cache with just our pens and trackables. There are only so many places to hide a regular container in those rocks and the gps was pointing to exactly where we thought the cache should be (also verified by the hint.) We searched for about an hour, just in case some critter had managed to haul it off somewhere, but no luck. So Ernie went back to the car to find something to replace it with. I managed to fit a micro coin in the new container. Absolutely astounding views and I managed to keep my hands away from the cactus, which was a feat in itself!

Estes01 and I made the climb from the road and searched all around GZ but couldn't find the cache. We checked the hint and found a perfect cache-size niche in the rocks, but no cache. Neither of us brought a spare container with us up the hill so we spent quite a while searching down below the top in case the cache had just fallen out. But no luck. Eventually I decided to go back to the car to get a replacement container, climbed back up, and put the cache back where it belongs. Very nice cache and a great view of the road maintenance activity down below! I'm afraid the two listed trackables are MIA. Thanks for choosing this excellent spot!

This one hadn't been found since last October, but just out of complete coincidence I arrived on scene not more than 5 minutes after CoJeepinPMCM. Nice to meet some fellow cachers. Definitely have to huff it up the hill for this one. TFTC! -Dolph
