Cache hidden on a small mountain to the North of Cripple Creek, Colorado.
This cache is an ammo can with an orange lid. The best place to park is at the Gold King Mountain Inn on the North East side of town. From there, look to the NW and the closest hill to you, that is the one you need to head towards. There is an old rusty bus sitting on this hill as well. I have no idea how it got there. Looks as if it's been there for years. Bring some water, good shoes, and pants. Watch out for big holes. From the Holiday Inn, the Cache is about .4 miles away. Not too far. The altitude at Cripple Creek is just below 10,000 feet. I'm from Oklahoma and had I climbed the same hill here, I would have been fine, but I thought my lungs were going to explode climbing this hill. Good luck and once you find it, relax and enjoy the wonderful view of the Rockies and Cripple Creek!

 Hints

The Cache is hidden under some shrubs on the south side of the hill. It's to the East of the rusty bus. The shrubs are near a big pile of rocks too.

I stopped by to grab this old one on my way out of town after making a donation to one of the casinos nearby. This is a beautiful view and a great spot for a cache.

I'm not used to seeing an orange ammo can, so that was a nice surprise. In addition, it was cool that the original log book is still here and I enjoyed reading some of the old logs people left. When I was done, I put everything back in place and headed back to the Geo Mobile for the long drive home. Thanks for the fun hide and for keeping this old one around for the rest of us.

P. S. No animals (including humans or PayMeCache) were harmed in the writing of this log.

This was the whole reason for my drive up from the Springs today. A cache hidden before I started caching in Durango, CO, in 2002. Fantastic hide, great views, gets a Fav from me. I am currently living in Southern California and there is a challenge there, in Apple Valley, I found and signed, but I need to find 50 caches hidden in the years 2000 and 2001. Even though I started in 2002, the Durango Area of Colorado had less than half a dozen caches when I started. This is my 35th cache find hidden in that time frame so I am inching closer and closer. Tarryall and Barclay's are the only other two in this area that fit the bill and I found them a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for keeping this cache alive and healthy. Colorado Rocks!!!

We were glad for the tip where to park. Even though the cache is not that far from the parking lot, we still were quite breathless by time we got to GZ. Beautiful views from up here. We love finding a big old ammo can. Left some swag for the next cacher. Thanks for showing us this spot and for the cache.

Gorgeous day to climb this hill. Almost 50 degrees today! Cache sadly lacking in swag. I left a couple items. TFTC.
