Elevation 11446 feet near the base of East Buffalo Mountain. 4WD required unless you hike along a road. Make sure you establish waypoints if you hike away from the area, it is easy to get lost in the forest. If you hike to East Buffalo, take a good pair of Binoculars. You can see Bighorn Sheep, Elk and Deer on or near the Mountain.
Standard waterproof container with register log, under a log, hidden by rocks. Items inside are pictures of Space, Boy Scouts, and items that are dear to my family but what we can afford to give away. If you take something, please leave an item of similar thought from your life. Thank You.

Had a nice trip up the road to this one - especially liked the nearby cabin... Thanks for the hide!

TFTC. SL. enjoyed the hike up on the road the last 2 1/2 miles as didn't want to risk puncturing a tire on the rocks. "No vehicles beyond this point" sign doesn't exist anymore. We brought down the t.b. which was taken up in July as doubtful any more people are going up before the snow flies.

Nice diversion off Hwy 285 to a cache that's been on my list since the early days of the fizzy challenge. At the time this was one of the few 4/5 caches in Colorado and it's pretty much inaccessible at certain times of the year. I was able to make it to another 4/5 to finish the challenge but this cache was still stuck in my head as one that needs to be done. Today was it! Road is rough in places but any 4wd vehicle should be able to make it all the way to the cache. Left a trackable, TFTC!

Fun drive up to this one! About 1.5 hr detour off of 285 and a little bit of FWD clearance and drive power required. The bugs loved me while I signed the log and took pictures of the local columbine. Cheers!

I've had this cache on my to do list for five years. Every summer we spend several days in Buena Vista and there just never seems to be enough time to get everything done. Finally had some free time on a sunny afternoon and loaded the boys in the Jeep for some off road fun. Made it to the end of the road and found the lonely cache after a short search. All was well and we added our names to the log. Took some pictures and started back down. Thanks for a nice hide in a beautiful area.

Summer now means time for adventures in XTerras. I have been wanting to try this area for a while now. The road was fun and had some views along the way. TFTC

EUREKA!!!!!

Today was the day that wingsandtales and I made it back here for the find. Roads are open and it is an interesting drive up here. We had a ball in "Wild Blue Yonder", her cache-mobile. The cache is in good shape. TFTC

Wingsandtales and I had set goal of getting the two caches up this way. Our best laid plans were foiled by a couple of gates across the access roads. Motorized travel is not permitted due to elk calving! Once the gates reopen we'll be back later this summer to accomplish our goal.
