This cache is located at an elevation of 10,960 feet in the Red Mountain Mining District east of Hwy 550. As always, be careful around old mining sites.
There are the ruins of an old wooden structure at these coords. Notice the use of 2x6 boards rather than the usual hewn logs used in the construction. There is no need to remove any part of the structure to find this cache. The container is about the size of a cigar and is camo covered. Do not attempt to remove the container from its hiding place. Just remove the cap and take the log out with a tweezets or some other "extracter". Please replace the cap securely.

NMFireHorse and Scotty the Highlander got warmed up on Lime Creek Road, and now to try to get to Lake City. We weren't about to DNF anything we could get to along the way, including this cache. Thanks for giving us a reason to do the drive, for the history, for bringing us here, and for the fun cache! XNSL, DBs
