Hiking with a bunch of my friends and our daughters for a couple of days and nights tent camping with a peak ascent. Really enjoyed the area and finding this cache. Thanks so much for the placement! #6992

TFTC! We grabbed four other caches today, but this cache was the focus of the day. It was a very steep hike and took 2.5 hours round trip. I enjoyed the hike very much. We met some people who were hiking the whole 2.500 miles of the CDT.

Beautiful fall day and the Aspen leaves are at peak colors, so how better to spend it then geocaching? CB_Beauty and I hiked up from the trailhead on the Taylor Park side. There were a few motorcyclists and we saw 4 bucks, one appeared to be a 6 point with very long tines. Cache was easy to find after we reached GZ, which took us a little over an hour to hike.
Although online shows no logs since 2014, there was a written log in 2015.

We started out on the north end of this loop (584) but decided it was too rocky. Plus, we met a guy who said he had taken an ATV up the hill and it scared him. We went back to the road and started up 414 from Garden Basin--that trail is beautiful! We ran out of time at the mine, but wish we could have completed the loop coming out 632...thanks for motivating us to get this far!
