TFTC!! A bit tricky due to the downed timber, but it is there! SL Took a wine cork (we had spent the night at a cabin at Alexander Lake Lodge. Opened a bottle of wine and broke the cork -needed a cork, but couldn't find one. Imagine our surprise when we opened the geocache and there was a cork! Hurrah!) Left a Colorado sticker. Tucked the cache back safely into its hidey hole!

Beautiful day for a hike. TFTC

Found this cache while hiking from Kannah Creek Road trail head up and over Crag Crest to Cottonwood Lake #1. After leaving Forrest Lake in the dew covered plants we started up. This was the longest day we did going up and over the crest and finally out of the trip.

I took the filled camera out of the cache and will have it developed on Monday.

Hiking around the loop of Crag Crest and whatever the lower trail is called. It is quite a little NRT. My map showed a benchmark, so I took a trail free spur up to it. Also found a PLSS marker along the boundary further down. Just a bit of snow across the top adding some extra little hills. A good day for hiking and monuments. Not so great for geocaches, but still got a few.

I tried to give the camera a wind, but it never finished. It must be full! I actually found a cache with a camera that was almost full that was about the same age recently. The next finder decided to develop the film and it was actually still pretty good. This one spends more time freezing, so should be even better off than that one was.

Found while in the process of meeting a personal challenge, to log all the caches on the western half of Grand Mesa, which will involve a significant amount of hiking, biking and 4 wheeling. At the same time we are planting a number of caches. This, along with several others, took as much time to find route to the trail head as the hike and the find, many of the trails referred to in the descriptions have been changed, closed, rerouted, etc. We enjoyed the trail walk to this one with lots of flowers and wild strawberries just barely ripe enough to eat. Found cache and log in good condition. TFTC SL

We came up the worst possible way. I had to assure my cousin that there WOULD be a trail at the top.

Log book says Larson cache? Camera in there is full. Wish I had taken the trail, not the direct route from June Cache. But got to see a porcupine!

Was with my wife on a backpacking trip. Found at a place I really needed to stop; carrying 60 lbs with my new pack. What a mass of trees blown down on this hill. tftc
