After 5 years of finding caches we thought we'd finally try our hand at hiding some. So we thought we'd do a series about the great dogs we have been fortunate enough to have as part of our family.

Dog #9 is Dean, named after a character in some TV show we don't even know. We were contacted by friends who were aware of someone needing to find a home for one of their dogs. Evidently they weren't around enough to take care of him and the poor guy was in a crate for most of his day which is tough for any dog let alone a 105 lb. German Shepherd mix. Well who are we to turn down a chance to rescue a dog. When we turned up to meet him and pick him up it turned out he had no manners, barking and pacing for over 20 minutes straight. Well we got him home and he met his new mates and slowly got comfortable. No crate, a dog door to go in and out freely, wow was this a change! It took less than a week to get his barking under control and for him to realize he was safe and comfortable. Shepherds are amazingly loyal to their people and Dean has latched on to Mr. DenBomans as his guy and follows him everywhere. He is extremely smart and well behaved (for the most part) and loves to play with his guy. Dean is only 5 now so we're hoping he'll be with us for a long time to come.

Spent a beautiful pre-fall day caching with good friend GanderGoose in the Broomfield area. Several of your canine caches were on our plan denbomans. Thank you for the cache and tricky placement :)
