Hot today. Enjoyed the hike except for the bushwhacking. Coords are spot on. Tftc!

Like the others, my GZ was off by 40 ft...twice...through two different GZ readings, but was able to scramble around to the place I would have put it, which is where it was located. Have to wonder if the little guy seen in the attached photo has watched many geocachers make their way to this particular geocache.
For my amusement, I shall watch this geocacher!

For several weeks icezebra11 and I have talked about getting out together for a day of cache-finding. Today it happened; we drove down from northern Colorado and had a great time hunting down caches in the hills above Manitou Springs! We started the day on the Red Mountain trail and ended with a long hike on the Section 16 trail system. We found some great caches, took in a brief afternoon rain spatter and hail flurry, and had a fun, memorable day together. Each of the caches was hidden in a marvelous location, and some required a bit of dedicated work to reach them. All-in-all, a super day of geocaching. Thanks to each of the cache owners for hiding and maintaining the caches we found!
This was our final ccahe along the higher trail before we found some caches at slightly lower elevations. Threatenoing weather caused us to end the loop hike at this point rtather than continue on for a couple of other planned caching objectives. This cache took some time to find, because we initially serached in an incorrect area. We were pleased to finally locate it! Thanks for it, Lepper Kahn!

A couple weeks ago Denali41 and I made plans to travel south today to the Pike's Peak/Colorado Springs area to go after a bunch of caches, starting at the top of the peak and working our way back down the mountain toward CS. Last night I texted my son who lives in the Springs that we'd be there today and asked if he wanted to hike with us in the Devil's Playground area. He said "good luck" because the Hill Climb was happening today. So we had to alter our plan to eliminate all the caches above the toll booth. We still had a full day of caching, as we fully expected we wouldn't be able to get to all the caches on the target list, even without the caches on PP.
After making a nice hike to Redstone Castle we headed for Sec. 16 Open Space. We had quite a few caches targeted both high and low and we decided to go high first, hoping to get as far as Third Stone from the Sun. We made the steep bushwhack up to this cache and began our search. After a fair bit of searching I pulled out my phone and checked the logs. Glad I did! Once we saw the info about the coordinates being a bit off, we were able to make the find. After signing the log we decided to head back down to the parking area as the weather was beginning to look sketchy. We didn't get as far as we had intended but we had a great hike. Thanks Lepper Kahn!!!

Scrambled up to this one before remembering the log comments about the GPS coordinates. Some more scrambling and cursing through scrub oak before finally spotting the cache.

Found it, thanks for hints from others, like the right rock . That scrub oak though!!! I was too hot for long sleeves and long pants but definitely needed them for this one. And that scrub oak tore my back pack! Well, its been initiated to the trail now. Now do I really want to continue on up to" Lightning Rod" at the top??

Coordinates were way off on this one...thanks to the other cachers who posted alternate coords in their logs! Cache was almost completely covered with leaves, but was still a quick find once in the right spot. Thanks for the hike!

I don't know if the container has been moved but my gps and phone were about 25-30ft off. Make sure you go to the right rock. TFTC!!
