This cach is located above the main mine shaft at an altitude of 10,930 ft. Strong lungs and legs may be required to reach this one. The area of this cache is accessible by most 4wd or offroad vehicles. You can almost drive up to it in a modified vehicle, or if your driving skills are good. Vehicles stay on the trail please. If he's around you can say hi to the resident of the area, he's harmless. Not available in winter months. The cache is a camo'ed thermos bottle with Purple beads, 2 feminazi pins, a mood ring (mine was good), a 50 pence coin, and a 10 colones coin. I put it facing down to help insure watertightness. It is also metal to help fend off Marmot attacks. There have been some plastic caches in the area destroyed by them.

08/09/2015 By kiecker Summer isn't over so it's time to take a vacation. Day 3 now and deep into Colorado's back country with the goal of crossing Ophir Pass and Imogene Pass. Today wasn't full of finds but it was a great day indeed full of smilies, photos, and laughs. After breakfast we left Ouray and headed towards Ophir. I've crossed many of these on motorcycles before but this would be my first time in the geomobile. After Ophir we stopped for lunch in Telluride and then up Imogene. We drove to within a couple hundred feet if the cache and then Kai and I made like billy goats up to the cache. Unfortunately the container's top has seen better days as it was full of water. I did my best to dry out the log and add my ink to this elusive hide. Thanks for placing!
