How does that shuttle and plane fly?
FLUID

A principal concept in aerodynamics is the idea that air is a fluid. Like all gases, air flows and behaves in a similar manner to water and other liquids.

Even though air, water and pancake syrup may seem like very different substances, they all conform to the same set of mathematical relationships.

In fact, basic aerodynamic tests are sometimes performed underwater.

Another important concept is the fact that lift can exist only in the presence of a moving fluid. This is also true for drag. It doesn't matter if the object is stationary and the fluid is moving, or if the fluid is still and the object is moving through it. What really matters is the relative difference in speeds between the object and the fluid.

Consequently, neither lift nor drag can be created in space (where there is no fluid). This explains why spacecraft don't have wings unless the spaceship spends at least some of its time in air. The space shuttle is a good example of a spacecraft that spends most of its time in space, where there is no air that can be used to create lift. However, when the shuttle re-enters the earth's atmosphere, its stubby wings produce enough lift to allow the shuttle to glide to a graceful landing.

Replaced the container, as the bottom was missing. It was my last spare that I had with me, so it is more like a large micro.

Memfis Mafia and I had plans to get near 1000 caches this weekend in South Dakota. Come Thursday when we were to pick up our rental car from Enterprise they said sorry we do not have a car for you. Even though we reserved one a month in advance. There was not another car in town to rent so we called off our trip.

Today we ran out to get enough caches to finish our Hidden Creatures. We ended up over 100 on the day and about 10% of out plan. In any case this was a cache we got today. Thanks for the hide.

We are on a crazy family mission to get into 5 digits for finds this year. This is find 6773 for us.

We will add more details as we go and most likely talk about our experiences on our weekly podcast

Had to take my wife to DIA for an unexpected trip so took the opportunity to grab some caches in the area. This one only had the cap still hanging from the wire. I replaced with a new container and log in same spot...TFTC SL

Went out and about with Sqweeter today for some caching adventure. First we went south and then we headed north, didn't have too much time left but we did cover a couple power trails. It was hot, glad to get some AC between caches. We've been watching the planes go over on their way to DIA. Nice series off a hardly used road. Lots of jack rabbits and yellow flowers today. I think this is the one where we only found a cap, hope you don't mind but I'm claiming it as found.. Thanks for the smiley! Cache #2543.

Out in the area with LAsouthpaw. We found the lid without the base attached so we're counting it as a find. Didn't have any replacements with us. Thanks for the flying lessons & the caches around here.
