Scenic view  Parking available  No Bicycles  No Motorcycles  Horses  Medium hike (1km-10km)

Located deep in Canyon Creek at an altitude of 8200'.

If you like long, rocky uphills this cache is for you. The view alone was worth the trek.

The road from I-70 is paved for the first 2 miles and then a rocky dirt road for the next couple of miles.

From the hard to find Trailhead at 6900', about 30' East of the parking area listed below, the hike to the cache is just over a mile; mostly a horse trail. From the cache site the trail continues on for several miles, onto a lake region of the flat tops.

The container has a log, pencil and room for trading items.

Congrats to Polaski on the FTF!

At the end of a great hike with beautiful views we found the cache after about 15 minutes of searching. We parked at the end of the pavement (coordinates above) and hiked the rough road into the trailhead and then the trail to GZ, a total distance of 2.7 miles with 2,000 feet of elevation gain. No wonder this is a seldom visited cache! T:sunglasses L:flashlight (no batteries) SL. T4TC!

Wow! Can see why this one is not found often. 1.8 miles from the parking lot on a rocky trail. The vegitaion was very thick from all the spring rain. Started up the trail too late and was starting to get dark by the time we got back to the cach mobile. SL but did not trade anyting. TFTC.

Great hike up canyon creek, just up the road from my sisters house. unbeleivable views. Left a spiderman keychain, took the star. Hiked up with my nephews Mat and Sean, my brother Tom, my wife, and 2 dogs.

Well, I got what I wanted. A nice workout to a cache. Cachers don't let the description keep you away. It's not that bad and there's good swag in the container. I put the green trash truck back and put the sunglasses (decent ones too) in a ziploc to prevent scratching. Took the epoxy and left a steel whistle w/ lanyard. I better go home and put a new cache together right away. Views down Canyon Creek are nice as well as views up trail around the corner. DON't really like rocky trails but I'm always up for a workout. Logged onsite from iPhone. Thanks!

Found it this morning on another 4:30 am hike. The trail sparkled along the sections with granite. The mica made it look like the stars in tne night time sky. The silence was only broken by the occasional bird taking flight. Thanks for the secluded location. Next person up, I left the green dump truck I meant to trade for, lying on the ground next to the cache. Got back to the car and realized I'ld forgot it. Just keep it or place it back in the cache. TFTC, FTF :0)
