TODAY...We found it with a lot of help from a fellow geocacher. Even then we looked and looked before we found it. This is crazy, but another poster wrote this and it was so true and was probably the biggest help (looking in hindsight, of course): it seems many describe as having their hands on it before find it. Yep, that's the big clue. Good luck, or call if I can help the next looker.
