Two of my favourite activities are Trail running and Geocaching and I often like to combine the two by picking up a cache while out on a trail run. This Cache is part of a series that I will be creating that combine a Geocache with a favourite running trail in and around Colorado Springs, CO. You don't have to run the trail to get these Caches but bonus points if you do.
This cache is located on the Pikes Peak Loop in the Black Forest Regional Park and Cathedral Pines area. This is 5 mile loop from the Parking area at Holmes and Vessey just North of Black Forest Regional Park. It is moderately difficult trail that winds through the Cathedral Pines neighbourhood and the North end of Black Forest Regional Park. The main parking for the loop is listed but the trail and cache can be accessed from multiple locations where the trail crosses roads. There are a couple of tricky intersections where it is confusing where the trail crosses a road or driveway.Follow this link for a more detailed description of the trail:
