This cache is located just off the Mt. Margaret trail near Red Feather. The cache is a small container, and holds a log for finders to sign. This cache is ok for kids, but close supervision is a must as there is some climbing involved. Elevation is 8243'Located roughly 1.5 mi. along and just off the Mt. Margaret trail, this cache name was inspired by the excessive amount of horse dung all along the trail. It was apparent that this was a popular trail to take your horses as their presence was felt everywhere you walked. Watch your step! We passed a few riders, other hikers, and their dogs as it was a nice late summer day. Finding this cache shouldn't be too difficult, but a little climbing will be required as you reach ground zero... Please, if you have children with you, attend to them at all times. After going through the entrance gate, you will follow the main trail as it winds through the fields. After going through another latched gate, you will walk a little further and look for the split in the trail. The cache is located in the area just after this split. Please latch all gates as you pass through them. Also, please respect Mother Nature and other hikers while enjoying this find. A USAF Ret. "Fillup" coin is there for FTF.
06/28/2016 By tdanderson2 The cache was difficult to find and it was so far in the crevasse we couldn't reach it. So we poked it with our walking stick and it fell farther and deeper. We were eventually able to push it far enough through that we could get it. We put it in hopefully a more secure place.
