This is absolutely the best view of the Royal Gorge and it's FREE!

This cache is located at 6747 ft in elevation. Be careful of your footing and please keep a close watch on the little tykes. You do not have to pay the admission fee to visit this overlook.

If you walk out a ways from the cache, it is the best place to view the Royal Gorge Bridge and the canyon. The train goes thru the gorge at several times a day. Neat to watch it snake its way thru the gorge. Fun to watch the helicopter drop out of the sky over the bridge. Cache is a small ammo can. Original items in cache are the log book, a chicken candle, polished rocks, Colorado postcard, a travel bug, an angel bookmark, a Bahama's $1, sunglasses, a Where's George dollar, a toy dog and matches.

We stopped by and found this cache before proceeding on to the Royal Gorge. What a great view! I felt like this was a great intro to the gorge and experience. Parked and made the short walk down to the cache. I only stepped on one cactus :-O

Thank you so much for this amazing location! I much prefer this over the crowded tourist trap that was the Bridge itself... We did have fun at the park, some awesome views from the bridge and even better from the zip line across the Gorge! Walked around at this remote location and only saw a few other people. Some absolutely spectacular views at this location and another nearby. So peaceful here as well, only the sound of the occasional helicopter. This was one of my favorite locations on our entire CO trip so far, really enjoyed our visit here! Fav point for location.

Found it with Lorin_05, GPS_09, and NoNo, signed as the Scotts. Took a long weekend trip to Colorado to see some place. First time for the kids here, it’s been about 30 years since my parents brought my siblings and I here. Grabbed this one before heading to the bridge. Nice place and views from here. SL. TFTC.

I stopped by the cache this morning. I last visited Royal Gorge in 1978 when I was stationed at Ft. Carson. The incline railway I rode to the bottom was destroyed in a wildfire a few years ago.

I stopped by and had a look at this cache. The container is in place exactly where I remembered it. The container was showing its age so I went ahead and replaced it. This cache is good to go. Come find it!

Looked and looked for about 25 minutes didn’t find a thing looked on top of this rock and we looked underneath it said 1 foot on top of it but it was the geocache wasn’t underneath the rock it’s not there.??

Visited this spot at the recommendation of RocketMan. We spent the afternoon on the train in the gorge, but drove out here afterword to get a different view of the it. It is a spectacular view!
