The Cache Across America Series: This is a series of caches that will take you on a caching tour of the entire United States. One cache is hidden in each of the 50 states. These caches each contain a numeric clue that will lead you to one final cache located in our nation's capital upon completion of the series.

About this cache: This cache is placed at the "base" of Pikes Peak - Americas Mountain. Just up the road a few hundred feet, is the entrance to the Pikes Peak Highway.

Pikes Peak is the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in North America. The ultra-prominent 14,115-foot fourteener is located in Pike National Forest, 12 miles west of downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This tollroad provides you the opportunity to enjoy 19 miles of mountain terrain, with frequent breathtaking views, four different Colorado life zones and unique animal sightings. From the summit’s various viewing areas, snap photos of Pikes Peak’s incredible scenery. Pikes Peak is one of Colorado’s majestic 14’ers and is one of the few places so grand in scale that are also accessible to be experienced first-hand by people of all ages and abilities.

There is a fee to drive up to the summit and you do need to plan ahead in the summer months, as they require you to purchase a timed entry permit.

Find all current info such as hours and rates, weather and reservation info at this LINK.

Logging Requirements: Enjoy this cache as you would any other. If you are searching this cache as a participant in the Cache Across America series, please post a photo of yourself or a member of your group with the cache in your online log. If you for some reason are unable to meet the photo requirement, please make alternate arrangements to verify your find with the individual cache owner. There is no photo requirement for non-challenge participants.

Individual verification of all 50 state finds will be required before logging the series final.

If participating in the series, please take note of the three digit code located inside this cache. Save this code in a secure place. When you have visited all 50 caches, and have collected all 50 codes, you are welcome to seek and find the final cache!
Good luck!

After a day exploring both Pikes peak and Manitou Springs, my wife asks me if I was ready to head for the hotel. I said absolutely not. I still had this CAA to target. A bit of an interesting drive on the highway to get to the road this cache was on. Pulled into the overflow lot to a muggle smoking something in here car in front of the trash bins. I made my way past and down to the cache. This is my 12th CAA. I will soon have to take my activities out east but for now this will do. Thanks for getting this one up and going just in time for my vacation to Colorado.

Driving from Medicine Bow, WY to Lubbock, TX, taking the long way through SW Colorado. After an overnight in Castle Rock this one was first on our list and another addition to our CAA list. Thanks for the hide.

Completing the whole series on this one would probably take a lot of time and effort to do. I will pass on that. Anyway, thanks for putting a large cache here. I took one of the Travel Bugs and left a couple other items.

We didn't even know that such a series existed! So... Colorado is our first one. Not sure if we'll be able to complete all of them. Posting a picture just in case. Good coords. We exchanged one of the trackables. Thanks for the cache.

TFTC I am back in Woodland Park for the summer and working on some of my geocaching stats to keep them up to date. This one helped a couple of categories.

All was in good order.

Congratulations EJKPBR and welcome to the Cache Across America owners family! Thank you for stepping up as the CO for Colorado, this is a great location to represent your great state. Without individual state owners such as yourself, the CAA series of caches could not exist.
