From the time when kids had to walk up hill both ways in a blizzard to get to school the Yuma County Historical Society has set out to locate and mark all the old country school.
Dist 90 started somewhere around 1889. There are several stories of where the first school in the area might of actually been It was often know as the German district and the first school and the Menonite Church may of been the same building. When district 90 split with Dist 97 the school has located at this site. In 1920 the school house has moved to town to become Joes consolidated
