#1 in the "Mountain Micro" series of caches hidden near "hike or bike" only trails in the Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho - Roosevelt National Forest. Not that you won't be able to get close with a Jeep or ATV. Its just that some walking will hopefully be involved.
I named this spot Hound Dog Rock ' cause my hound dog started to chase a squirrel up on top of there.

Coordinates should take you to a rock formation that sets about 20 feet above the north side of the trail.

The container is a 35mm film can under a little cairn up on top of the formation. Add another rock if you feel so inclined.

Wow! Just a few days short of a 2 year lonely cache. Lonely no more. SL TFTC

My dad and I decided to come out to Carnage Canyon today to get some of the caches up here. We took the hard way up the side of the mountain to the roads, but once we got on a real trail it was much easier. SL. TFTC!

I think calling this spot open again is a little generous, though maybe technically correct. The approach from the posted parking coordinates required a fair bit of bushwhacking and log hopping. I finally made it to GZ, though. Found the cache without much difficulty while avoiding the cactus. Couldn't find a pen in my pack but took a picture and left a South Dakota state quarter to prove I made it.

The flood washed a lot of the shooter debris down out of the area, but an awful lot remains. You can see layers of spent shells in the banks of the new-formed gully. This cache was intact because it's up pretty high. Thanks for placing it.
