I haven’t been on Gold Camp Road for quite some time, so it was good to get a chance to return and try to pick up a few caches. I was surprised how crowded the road was, I suppose it is because of the Memorial Day Weekend kick-off. I wanted to give this one a try because it had a good difficulty rating, terrain rating, it looked fun, and I noticed it has not been found for some time. I did my initial recon of the road looking for a parking spot. I found two, one to the north of the cache and one to the south. Not sure which avenue of approach was more beneficial, I picked one and started my ascent. On the way back, it looked like the route I did not chose seemed easier, so I tried that for the return trip. I learned that one route had more boulders / small cliffs to negotiate, the other more bushwhacking; with both on each route. Fortunately, neither route was that bad nor the GZ offered a good view. I was lucky that I literally walked right up to the cache, so I didn’t have to spend too much time searching. Considering how long the cache hasn’t been found, the cache is in great shape. I was puzzled by the log though; there was a strange entry made after Wings and Tales entry from almost 3 years ago. I’m not sure who made it, likely someone who found the cache but didn’t log their visit. I’ve noticed that in a number of caches in the area. What could they have been trying to convey? Regardless, I was happy to add this lonely one to my stats because I keep track of that. With this find, I now have (counting only 1 year or more lonely) a total of 129 years, 6 months lonely time on 63 caches from 11 North American States & Provinces. Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache for everyone to find, TFTC.

I had some time after another hike so I made my way up to the top. Found the cache quickly and like usual found a better way out than the way I came in. TFTC

Was in the area doing two of Spivey's caches and scoping out Mt. Rosa caches when I had time to get this one since it was on the Magellan. I stood over this cache not knowing it was there until the aforementioned Magellan settled on 0ft while the phone, which I am logging from now at GZ, showed 1-21ft variance. It was merely instinct that got me to find the pink container.

Sun is setting and I need to get off this peak! Tftc HD!

We finally redeemed ourselves and hiked up there again. It still took us a long time to spot this one. Great hiding spot. Sure glad to get the smiley for that one. Tftc.
