My myth-loving geokids and I realized that there were no caches on one of our favorite trails, and set out to rectify that...A not-too-long walk on a beautiful trail, but remember that the way back is uphill ;) Please try to replace as found ("wedged" so it doesn't wander). CONGRATS to Alpenist for FTF!

In Norse Mythology, Bifrost (Bilrost or Bivrost) is a burning rainbow bridge that reaches between Midgard (Earth) and Asgard (the realm of the gods). The bridge ends in heaven at Himinbjorg, the residence of the god Heimdallr, who guards it from the jotnar. Norse prophecy foretells the bridge’s destruction during Ragnarok by the forces of Muspell, the realm of fire. Bifrost parallels another bridge, Gjallarbru, which is the bridge between earth and the underworld. Every day the gods ride their horses across it to the holy well where they hold court - all the gods with the exception of Thor, who insists on wading through the boiling waters of the rivers Kormt and Ormt. In Prose Edda, one translation of a poem reads: “Kormt and Ormt and the Kerlaugs twain/Shall Thor each day wade through/(When dooms to give he forth shall go/To the ash-tree Yggdrasil;)/For heaven’s bridge burns all in flame,/And the sacred waters seethe.”

Find #4073

Found it 12/22/2018 By lasouthpaw
Peace love pi and I decided to do some pre-Christmas caching today. We didn't really have a plan, but ultimately decided on Anthem Park and around Sheridan. I don't know if it was everyone doing some last minute shopping or the cold-ish weather, but we had a pretty muggle free day. We had snow flurries, so "caching through the snow" kept playing through my head. Peace love pi laughed at me because I was freezing and layered up like the Stay-Puft marshmallow man. We decided a walk would do us good and headed out on this nice trail. Everything was in good shape with the cache. Thanks for the smiley! Find #3077.

Out caching with lasouthpaw on this chilly morning. I had a DNF in the nearby park so was happy to be back in the area in an almost snake-free season to avenge that and complete the rest of the park. We headed this way to do a few more before calling it a day. TFTC! All is well with this cache.

Great container for this location. I'm happy its inhabitant was hibernating. T f t c

Thanks for replacing it.

Tried this one on 11/9 when it was MIA. Saw the replacement log on 11/15, so figured we'd better get back and snag this one to move the DNF off the list. It can be hard to keep a 'regular' size cache in place 'in town'.

Replaced. Wedged so that hopefully will stay put...

Muggled ?? Looked all around to see if it had rolled away but it should’ve been too big to miss. I’ll replace a soon as I can find the same size replacement

We got this cache on a nice morning. Not too hot, yet. A nice hide. I didn't trade anything but I signed the log.

Easy rural hide. Not much of a creek here, but maybe it will be bigger at other times. Left a Sponge Bob trackable, now onto the last of the Myth series on this trail. Was glad that there was not too much distance between #10 and this one. TFTC

Took shortcut off path around these.

We headed back out today to finish up getting these last 8 caches that we wanted to get yesterday but it got to dark to continue. I broke out the geo-bike to after these two caches. After signing the log, I looked up and saw someone coming down the trail, so I quickly rehid the cache and made my way back down the trail. About .2 tenths down the trail, I looked back and saw it was a cacher heading down under the bridge where I had just come from. So, when I got back to the car, I started wondering who could it have been. After reading her log I knew who it was. Very nice hide, TNLN, SL,TFTC

Took a drive to Broomfield for four new caches. As I was walking down the trail, I saw a troll coming out from under the pedestrian bridge. The troll got on a bike and rode away so I decided it was probably a cacher instead. The log revealed it was a cacher I knew. I did not catch up to him at the next cache, however. Thanks for the myth and placement, Nighthawkers!
