My first night cache. I had to go buy a better flashlight while I waited for it to get dark enough to make my way through the woods. Fun cache and verry spooky! Thanks Kerewin0430 for the fun and find.

Oh I more than made the T-rating on this one !!!
I had actually been to the park once; one freeEEEzing winter day about one, or maybe two years back. Got a virtual up near "parking". This time I didn't realize where I was as I tried to follow the Garmin in to GZ while driving thru neighborhoods on the north. Found a parking/ trail crossing a bit NW … but in the dark that option just got worse and worse until I quit on it about 300 feet away. I circled some in the car until it seemed I was on the park border about .4 miles south. Yyeeesh- from there I didn't find even one foot of trail . . . until I crossed a SIDEWALK just thirty feet from posted cord's !!!!!! Youch.
It was a perfectly easy - even Serene - time after that. Pavement almost all the way back to the car from here after I got the lay of the land.

Call Jayne! Reavers are all over this forest!! I don't know if I will be able to get to the final location before I am taken! Call Jayne!!
2,045 caches later and I finally get to my first night cache. A good one it was to wait this long for too. Once I initially saw what I was looking for, I was able to use the quadruple D Maglite flashlight to power my way through the Reaver infested forest for the final. GZ is at one of those bushes that makes sure you take home a few pounds of it prickly self in your socks, shoes, pants...
Nonetheless, it was a good first night cache experience which earned you a fav point. Browncoats unite! (Took the coin that was in it too.)

Ok, you're sitting at 3,999 caches, so what do you do? You pick an awesome night cache to go for #4000! I love Firefly, so this one had to be IT. And by my pretty floral bonnet, that was an amazing cache! The CO graciously accompanied me on my nocturnal adventure, but she didn't give anything away. It was a clear and chilly night, but beautiful. The trail was easy to follow, so we made short work of the hike and soon I had the spooky cache in hand. Shiny! Took some pics to commemorate the occasion and did a little happy dance for #4000. Well, not really, but we'll pretend I did anyway. :D We also enjoyed hearing a pair of owls hooting near the final! Too cool. Thanks again for an awesome and memorable milestone! Fav point for sure. L coin in the final. TFTC

This one has been on my list for a few weeks but I didn't have a good enough flashlight. I tried ordering one online, but it hasn't arrived yet. However, when I was Harbor Freight this week I picked up a $10 flashlight that was super bright and has a zoom feature, so I thought I'd give this one a shot.
It was a cold and windy today and although the wind died down, it didn't do much for the temperature. The kids and I braved the cold along with KickBassMama so I could show her what "nightcaching" was all about.
There isn't really close parking, so Rampart Park would have to do. I was kinda hoping the trail would lead us back to the truck, but the walls (cliffs?) along the creek were just too high and we had to retrace our steps once we finished.
Nice surprise once we had the cache in hand! Thanks for a fun cache.

Out night caching in the 11 degree cold with the SquirtsExplorers, this cache was a lot of fun. Although I felt as though someone was going to jump out and scare us at anytime. (Ha, Ha, Ha)
Thanks for the adventure!
