This is an offset multi-cache and there is no physical cache container at the initial coordinates. At the given coordinates you'll find a sign. Read about the Summer Home for the Presidents and find the year that the cornerstone dedication took place. The physical cache is a Lock-n-Lock located a little over a tenth of a mile away. Use the formula below to determine the final coordinates:
Four digit year: ABCD
Coordinates are in degrees, minutes, decimal minutes format: DD MM.MMM

Note: The brackets below are used to separate the digits. Don't use the brackets for multiplication. The answer will be in the format: DD MM.MMM

Substitute the numbers for letters in the coordinates below:

N 39 [ C*3 ][ D*2 ].[ A*3 ][ C*3 ][ C+D ]
W 105 [ A ][ C*3 ].[ A-C ][ B ][ C+D ]

Start from either the east or west parking lots. If you park on the west side, the trail will be pretty flat. The 3.5 terrain rating assumes you park at the east Mt. Falcon parking lot.

In the early 1900s, John Brisben Walker owned most of the property where Mt. Falcon and Red Rocks parks exist today. While building his home nearby, Walker envisioned an entire resort on top of Mt. Falcon and proposed the construction of a Summer Home for the Presidents of the United States nearby. Before being dedicated, a white marble cornerstone (from Marble, Colorado) was displayed in Denver to attract interest in the project. Walker offered to donate the land and $50,000 cash to help finance construction. The town of Morrison pledged $1,000. Jefferson County Commissioners began trying to raise funds and urged all Coloradans to contribute. Schoolchildren were asked to each donate a dime. President Woodrow Wilson was invited to the dedication ceremony...but only local dignitaries showed up. Partially due to World War I, interest in the project waned...and little besides the cornerstone, some foundations and a few walls were built.

The cache container initially contains a logbook and pencil, an emergency dog leash, a lanyard, some Narnia pins and other tiny swag. There's a digital travel alarm as a FTF prize.

Congrats to Prescottazbob on the FTF!

I first visited Mount Falcon a little over a year ago with my sister and niece. We adventured around and found several caches that day. We also stopped by here to get the information for the final coordinates. Little did I know it would take over a year for me to return and hunt for the container. The little one wanted to go for a hike today, and this was the chosen location. We got to the area easily enough, but my first search revealed nothing. And it didn't help when the little one was saying every new spot I looked was a snake house. We took a break and went back up to the trail for a few minutes. I really wanted to find this and decided to make one more attempt. Somehow made it to the right spot where something looked funny, sure enough we uncovered the cache. Thanks for the smiley! Find #3501.

Found this after originally using the wrong date. If still struggling with the final location, look for rocks that seem manuported. Fun cache!!!

12:53 PM We are here from Dallas for our typical August vacation in Divide in order to skip the Texas heat for a couple of weeks.

Today we drove to Denver mainly for the Colorado DeLorme and Great Square of Colorado challenges, plus a rare D/T combo involving a tree climb instead of hanging off a cliff.

We are capping it off with a geocache event to celebrate RPieperCO's 4 year geocaching anniversary.

After signing the log on
The Great Square of Colorado Challenge, we hiked over to this cache. Fascinating history. With weather rolling in, I was given 5 minutes to sign the cache. Lots of possibilities, but the good coordinates helped a lot. I made the find, did the paperwork, rehid the cache and was back on the trail with one minute to spare! (The storm skirted us to the west anyway.)

I signed the log. Thanks, MorrisonHiker, for the memorable cache. I am adding a favorite point.

I chose the correct date and found myself down the hill from an apparently very romantic bench. I think I was in the right area. I checked and checked behind the most prominent boulder, and every rock in the vicinity that could be construed to be a boulder and did not find (a) a bottle cap, or (b) two human-placed rocks that provide cover for the geocache. Fortunately, nor did I find (c) a trio of rattling snakes. Be gratefule for the little victories, I suppose.

You might want to check on this one.

A great Sunday afternoon hike on Mt Falcon.
Finally went for this cache.
Easy calculations got the final coordinates.
There my wife found the cache after extensive searching, while I kept the dog from the cactus plants.
Thanks for showing the area and historic site.

Got this one on a very windy day! The wind was really blowing hard across the ridge! Once I did the calculations I pretty much knew where the cache would be! Cache and log is in great shape!!! TNLN-SL! TFTC!!!
