This cache (troll) was originally planted by one Girl Scout troop. Due to construction at the original site, the troll was buried under hundreds of pounds of rock/dirt fill. So a new Girl Scout troop (hence the cookie moniker), relocated the Cookie Troll to a nearby bridge to/from nowhere. The bridge won't be messed with as easily as it was built to support a water main, and to eventually be incorporated into new housing developments. As it stands, the bridge is over the scenic wash (admire the twisted beautiful sides due to erosion) still in the middle of an empty field. The housing developments are arriving, still a bit of a walk away, but the bridge is still in undeveloped territory, for now. Find the Cookie Troll! You should know where trolls hide when it comes to bridges! Watch your step, it could be a little steep in that area!

Temporarily Disable Listing 08/19/2020 By IgnotusPeverell
Greetings Davnel, I'm IgnotusPeverell, one of the volunteer reviewers for caches submitted to Geocaching.com.

This cache was brought to my attention by one or more of your fellow cachers that think this cache is missing and/or in need of maintenance. I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past, and I am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running again in the future. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give you the opportunity to check on the cache, and replace or repair it, if necessary. Cache Owner Responsibilities include monitoring logs for reported problems, updating any changes to the text or coordinates, removing Needs Maintenance attributes, marking trackables as missing if they are not in the geocache, enabling the listing, and more. If you feel you won't be able to maintain this geocache in a timely manner, you may post an update to the geocache page or you may archive it (this will keep the cache from continually showing up in search lists). Otherwise, it can be enabled once you have made repairs. Please use the "Write Note" feature to leave notes on the cache page. Please do not use the "OWNER MAINTENANCE" log until you do the maintenance, and the cache is ready to be found again.

When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to enable your cache, it will be no problem. You can re-enable the cache page by clicking the link under the cache name or by checking the box that says the cache is active. If a "Needs Maintenance" log was posted, you will also need to log an Owner Maintenance log to clear the "Needs Maintenance" icon from the geocache page.

Do not reply to this email. It is sent by a no-reply mailbot so I won't get it. To contact me with any questions or concerns about this geocache, please e-mail me directly at IgnotusPeverellReviewer@gmail.com, and reference this geocache with the GC number and/or link to the geocache page.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived."

Additionally, please note that if I've not heard from you in 4 weeks, I may be forced to archive this cache. DURING COVID-19, YOU MAY HAVE EXTRA TIME BUT PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED IT. Don't let your cache get archived for non-communication

Thanks for your understanding,
IgnotusPeverell

Stopped by to look for this one first, a construction dude told me that this is a dangerous area and the area even not posted is off limits and will be torn down in the near future..

He told me to relay the bad news!

The Cookie Troll has been relocated and is back in action! Better and harder than before. You've got to put in some effort/walk to find it now! Can be approached from multiple directions, but the easiest is the elementary school parking on Research.

Post Reviewer Note 07/24/2020 By IgnotusPeverell
Greetings Davnel,

I'm IgnotusPeverell, one of the volunteer reviewers.

It looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache in the next couple of weeks, or archive it so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and cachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.

If the reason the cache is under the weather is something out of your control, such as construction or flooding, please post a note on the cache page with your best guess of when the conditions will improve. If the situation is temporary and is something out of your control, there is no need to archive the cache at this time. Please however, add a note to the cache page detailing the situation to allow others to understand the situation - and - to prevent this from being archived for inactivity.

Additionally, please note that if no action is taken in 30 days, I will be forced to archive this cache. Don't let your cache get archived for non-communication.

COVID-19: If you need extra time due to travel restrictions or safety, please post a note on the cache page. Communication is needed to keep this cache active.

Thanks,
IgnotusPeverell

There's quite a bit of construction here, so I think it's gone.

Bummer! No luck

Attribute says “available in winter” but that didn’t work out for me. Took a fall down the bank and got up covered in mud!
Nevertheless, made my way down but still couldn’t find the cache.

I wanted to get a cache today for the souvenir, and this was my closest unfound one. It probably would have take me about 30 seconds to go get the cache normally, but today there's still a lot of slick, hard-packed snow near ground zero, so I had to be über careful not to fall down the hill! Anyway, I made the find and signed the log. Happy New Year!
